About Me

Hi, I’m Christine Allen, a Tallaght native and a writer with a real passion for football and a drive to give the women's game the coverage/promotion it deserves.

For me, nothing compares to the buzz of capturing the energy of a match through writing—whether it’s a match report, a post match interview or even live-tweeting the action as it unfolds.

I work full-time as a Quality Assurance Lead for a government department, but in my spare time, I dedicate my time to writing about football simply because I love it.

I’ve been fortunate to contribute to Extratime.ie, writing match reports, previews, and interviewing players. I previously covered Shamrock Rovers, writing match reports for their official website and I launched a fanzine for the Rovers women’s team for the 2024 campaign, giving fans a dedicated space to follow their journey. I also covered the team weekly for The Tallaght Echo, helping to highlight the growing impact of the women’s game at a local level, and wrote a number of pieces on the Rovers Academy when I visited The Roadstone.

Whether I’m writing a deep-dive analysis, capturing key moments in a match report, or sharing live updates on Twitter, I love bringing irish football to life and playing my own small part in helping to grow the women's game’s visibility.

I have created this site due to a lack of content around the Women's Premier Division in the country and because I just really enjoy writing about the women's game here. I look forward to telling more stories of the game this year via match reports, player interviews and post match analysis.
